The Big-D Idaho Falls office began, in earnest, in 2013 when a project construction team with ties to Eastern Idaho was relocated to Rexburg, Idaho to manage the construction of the Central Energy Facility project at BYU-Idaho. Company leadership then discovered there were other employees from Eastern Idaho eager to pursue more work locally. In turn, Big-D encouraged their eagerness and desire to establish a presence throughout Eastern Idaho. That presence continued to grow until Big-D officially opened a regional office in Idaho Falls in 2018.
Big-D Idaho Falls is proud to offers clients the ability to work directly with a local contractor who can devote a higher level of attention to projects, typical of a smaller contractor, but who is also backed by the significant resources of a much larger firm. With Big-D Idaho Falls you receive the best of both worlds – the dedication of an earnest small contractor and the resources, professionalism, and experience of a much larger organization.
While the roots of Big-D Construction are ever-expanding, our Idaho Falls office takes a community-centered approach to our work. The Big-D Lindon office opened in 2005 with the focus to increase Big-D’s presence in Utah County. The Lindon office constructs a wide range of project types annually, with key market sectors being commercial buildings, higher education facilities, multi-family housing, industrial, and mining projects. Big-D Lindon is a fully self-sufficient office, able to offer comprehensive Preconstruction and Construction services, and is staffed with a Preconstruction Director, a team of estimators, and a variety of market-specific construction team members.
Building and maintaining local client relationships has always been the driving factor for the Lindon office but being local for their employees who appreciate working on projects close to home and minimizing long commutes is equally as important. Big-D Construction was founded in 1967 in Ogden. It was our original home, first headquarters, and where it all started. The Ogden office is where our company culture and core values were forged and where Big Dee and his founding leaders built a company based on equal respect for customers and employees. Big-D Southwest has provided design/build services in partnership with Orcutt | Winslow to Casa Grande Regional Medical Center for an addition that includes construction of a new 56-bed, 47,050-sf medical tower and a 13,000-sf, 22-bed Intensive Care Unit. Additionally, the team was contracted to perform an 8,956-sf interior renovation to the cardiology department, PACU (seven-bed), an endoscopy catheterization lab, state-of-the-art operating room, 480-sf electrical room and expansion to the central plant. New site work encompasses a 464-car parking lot and landscape / hardscape components as well. This project was completed in 18 months and returned $260,000 to the owner from original estimates to final construction. Casa Grande Medical Center serves as a base station, providing medical direction to more than 12 emergency medical service providers in Pinal County. An AirEvac helicopter is based at the Banner Casa Grande campus as well.

Castle Rock Medical Center is a rural healthcare facility that replaced an outdated existing medical center. The building includes a Reception/Lobby area, Conference Rooms, Breakroom, Fitness Center, Lab Area, X-Ray, Support Spaces (IT, Mech/Elec, Storage), Administrative Offices, and vast Clinical Space (three sections, each with large central workstations surrounded by exam and procedure rooms). The updated clinical space created a more unified working environment for patient care staffers, facilitating communication, as well as improved the patient experience. The upgraded facility added modernized features, updated technology, energy efficient heating and cooling, security systems, and fire suppression. Located in a cold climate, unique features included construction of a hydronic snow melt system under exterior sidewalks and highly durable Thermory® steam-treated wood clad exterior.
